In DeKalb County, we believe that no one should go hungry — and together, we’re rising to meet the challenge head-on. As part of our commitment to a healthy, thriving community, United Way of DeKalb County is proud to partner with Fortify Life and the Community Foundation DeKalb County to launch the DeKalb County Hunger Relief Alliance. This collaborative effort is not about creating another organization—it’s about bringing our resources, local food banks, volunteers and community partners together so we can respond faster and more effectively when families need help.
UNITED IS THE WAY WE KEEP FAMILIES FED.💙❤️💛
The need is pressing. Families across DeKalb County are losing critical food benefits, and the ripple effects are being felt. Even when assistance resumes, the damage has already been done—local food banks and pantries are already experiencing increased demand. In fact, in our county, many households already depend on food-pantry support between paychecks or benefit cycles. With more families now turning to help, we must act now to ensure that no one is left behind.
There are several ways to get involved with the DeKalb County Hunger Relief Alliance:
-
Give Back: Every dollar you give goes directly to local food banks and pantries. United Way of DeKalb County holds the fund in partnership with Fortify Life and the Community Foundation DeKalb County, ensuring your gift gets where it’s needed most.
-
Get Involved: Help pack groceries, deliver food, or assist local pantries. Your hands-on support makes a real difference in a family’s day.
-
Take Action: Join the Hunger Relief Coalition which brings together nonprofits, churches, schools, pantries and community members to share real-time needs and coordinate responses.
- Donate Food: Non-perishable items are always in demand—drop them off at your nearest pantry and help fill shelves so families can fill plates.
When you give back, get involved, or simply spread the word, you join a network of caring neighbors who are ensuring that children, families and older adults in DeKalb County don’t have to face hunger alone.
This work reflects one of our core impact areas: Community Resiliency. When we come together to support our neighbors through crisis, we strengthen the systems, relationships, and resources that help our community not only respond — but recover and grow stronger. By supporting the DeKalb County Hunger Relief Alliance, you are helping ensure DeKalb County remains a place where every family has what they need to get through hard times and move forward with hope.
