The plans for the 2019 Power of the Purse are underway, and we hope you choose to be a part of this exciting philanthropic tradition! The proceeds from the event will support programming grants that will greatly impact our community. This year’s event will take place at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum located at 1600 South Wayne Street in Auburn, Indiana. Our theme this year is “The Roaring 20's” and we are very excited to introduce “Gangster Alley” at the dinner event. We want to encourage the men to join in on the fun so we are creating a raffle area of items such as grilling, sports and outdoor items.
Luncheon – Doors will open at 10:30 AM, program will begin at 11:30 AM and conclude at 2:00 PM.
Dinner – Doors will open at 6:00 PM, the program will begin at 7:00 PM.
Evening VIP Hour – Doors will open at 5:00 PM, VIP Hour will conclude at 6:00 PM.
VIP guests will enjoy signature hors d'oeuvres and 2 drink tickets as they have a first look at the evening’s purses. VIP guests will have a chance to win the VIP purse.
Space will be limited to 40 tickets. VIP tables are available; please see attached purchasing information.

VIP Hour : $75.00 each
1 Lunch & 1 Dinner: $90.00 each
Pack a Purse Donor
This is the most popular part of the entire day! We are looking for 100+ purses for the two events. You, your business, or a group of friends can get creative and put a fabulous purse together!
Please note the purses CAN contain alcoholic products this year. Indiana Charity Gaming has changed this law.
Each purse should be packed with goodies, and the value of the purse and contents should be a minimum of $200.00.
The early bird deadline is Friday, March 22nd to be entered for your chance to win two FREE event tickets!
The purses are displayed during the luncheon and dinner. Packed purses, including a detailed description of the contents, are due to the United Way office by Friday, March 29th.
When purchasing and filling purses we encourage you to shop locally and support our DeKalb County businesses!
Additional Item Donations
Donate an item that could be used as a door prize or to help pack a community purse. You could also donate items such as gift cards, sport experiences or microbrews to be part of “Gangster Alley” at our dinner event.
